HOW TO ADOPT
Our adoption model emphasizes the importance of meeting the cats and getting to know them before committing to an adoption. This is why we require all potential adopters to schedule a kitty visit. We follow the same adoption process as SpokAnimal – plus we’ve added a few screening protocols of our own.
-Same day adoptions are not permitted. It’s a big decision! After you meet “the one,” take the night to think about it. What’s one more day anyway?
-Kitty Cantina will not adopt out cats if we suspect the adopters have intentions of declawing. This practice is inhumane and our stance is firmly in opposition.
-Kitty Cantina will not adopt out cats if we suspect they will be placed into a hazardous situation. This includes allowing your cat to go outdoors. Though there are some exceptions, the vast majority of cats should remain indoors for their safety. Supervised outings under controlled circumstances are great, but free-roaming outdoor kitties have a much shorter life expectancy.
-Similar to humans, cats are not universal. They come from different backgrounds and have different personalities. We do our best to become familiar with every kitty in our care, and we share what we know with potential adopters. Some cats do terrible in homes with loud dogs and wild children, and some thrive in those situations. We want to help pair you with the purrfect furr-child!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
All of the cats living with us come from our partner shelter SpokAnimal. This helps free up space and resources at the shelter so they can focus their efforts on more at-risk animals. They are all in need of homes and are adoptable!
No, sorry. We don’t do the whole window shopping thing. Check out our adoption process for more details.

Adoption fees:
Kittens up to 6 months: $150
Cats 6 months to 11 months: $100
Adult cats 1 to 6 years: $85
Senior cats 7 to 9 years: $45
Super seniors (10 and older): $25
An additional $11 “giardia snap test” fee is added to every adoption, regardless of the cat’s age. Testing allows our partner shelter reduce the spread of this contagious infection by catching it before it comes in to the Kitty Lounge.
The Kitty Lounge is not always open when the café is. The kitties need a break from hoomanz, and we also need time to clean their living space and do wellness checks. Reservations are required if you want a date with the kitties. Please refer to the booking page for more details on this process.
