THE KITTY LOUNGE

Want to hang with the coolest cats in town? Reserve your date in the Kitty Lounge!

In accordance with the mandated COVID restrictions, Kitty Dates are limited to 5 same-household guests. When you reserve the room for “1 spot” you may visit alone or with up to 5 total members of your household. You will not be sharing the space with any other guests. The “Kitty Date” fee goes directly toward cat supplies and staffing and ensures the kitties have a comfortable and nourishing stay with us. Your Kitty Date also comes with a $10 café credit which can be used to purchase any house-made drinks or food after your visit.

Per Governor Insless’s order and the SRHD, we must require all Kitty Lounge guests to wear their masks at all times while visiting the cats.

STEP 1:

PLAN AHEAD

Kitty Lounge capacity is limited to 5 guests at a time from the same household. When you reserve your “1 spot” you are reserving the entire room for up to 5 people total. Visits are 50-minutes and start at the top of the hour. If you are coming with the intention of adopting you must first read the adoption process on our “ADOPT” page. Please also read all rules and policies before confirming a visit.

STEP 2:

Children + LIABILITY WAIVER

Everyone must read our liability waiver before making a reservation. By completing a reservation form you certify that you and everyone in your party have read the liability waiver, understand its contents and agree to its release.

Children age 3 an under are not allowed in the Kitty Lounge for safety reasons. Children 4-13 MUST be accompanied by an adult with a maximum of 2 children per adult. Parents must closely monitor their kiddos. Children who are unable to follow the rules will be asked to leave with no warnings.

STEP 3:

Confirmation

A confirmation email will be sent after completing a reservation. We cannot issue refunds, but you can reschedule your visit from the original confirmation email anytime 24 hours of your visit. Please do not call to reschedule as we are not able to do it on our end manually.

If you have a gift card we can charge it the day of your visit and refund your original entry fee. Please email us if you are confused about this process and we would  be happy to assist you. spokanekittycantina@gmail.com

STEP 4:

COME PREPARED

During COVID we must require face masks to be worn in the Kitty Lounge at all times. This temporary measure means no more food or drink are allowed in the room. Immediately after your kitty visit your group gets a $10 café credit that can be used to purchase any house-made drinks or food.

Please check in at the bar when you arrive. A cat-caretaker will call you in to the Kitty Lounge when your kitty date starts. Please remind your kiddos about the rules before entry. If you are confident that your children can remain calm, we would love to have them visit. If not, we kindly ask that you do not bring them.

Kitty Lounge Rules

  • Wash hands or apply hand sanitizer before entry.
  • Disturbing a sleeping kitty is rude. Don’t be rude.
  • Everyone may pet the kitties but only adults may pick them up.
  • We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if we believe the well-being of the cats is being disturbed.

Children in the Kitty Lounge

This is not a “petting-zoo.” This is a means of socializing shelter cats and finding them homes. Our top priority is the safety and comfort of our cats. For this reason, there are strict rules regarding children in the Kitty Lounge. Please closely monitor your kiddos. Children who are not respecting these rules will be asked to leave.

  • Children must move slowly. No running, jumping or climbing.
  • Children may NOT pick up the kitties. Respectful playing is OK.
  • Do not stand on the benches or move the pillows around.
  • Respect the space of other guess.
  • Do not allow your children to throw toys or pick up random items.
  • Voices need to be kept down so the cats don’t get frightened.
